I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

A male who was intimidating women in the Chingford Mount area on 17 June 2026 was subsequently arrested in Albert Crescent for violent assault on police officers and criminal damage.

He has since pleaded guilty to all offences and has been remanded to Crown Court for sentencing.

Thanks to the prompt reporting by members of the public and retailers in Albert Crescent, officers from both ERPT and the Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team were able to quickly locate and arrest the male, ensuring he was brought to justice without delay.
